Rexall: A Historic Landmark Transformed

This week, I had the pleasure of attending the launch event of Rexall’s newest location in one of Toronto’s most iconic buildings, The Brunswick House. With plenty of my own memories made there with friends throughout the years, truth be told, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I walked through those front doors on Thursday morning.

For many Toronto locals, especially those living nearby, The Brunswick House at 481 Bloor St. W. was nothing short of a neighbourhood hotspot. With a history of live music and many jazz and blues music legends having played on its stage, including Etta James, Buddy Guy, Jeff Healey and many more throughout the mid to late 1900’s, “The Brunny” was and forever will be a landmark in Toronto’s Annex.

Toronto has a new pop up shop in town and it’s mind-blowing. Imagine everything that you hold important encompassed in just one place; eco friendliness, veganism and sustainability. Initiated by leading brand LNBF and produced by Vacantful Inc., the LNBF Eco Shop is located at 82 Adelaide St E and is a must-visit during its 4 month run this summer. It features a collection of amazing brands and is a one-stop shop for all your needs: jewellery, clothing, make up, skin care, accessories and even coffee!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending their Eco Pop Up Show & Tell Collective Summer Party and was blown away by it’s success. Sponsored by one of my favourite juice bars Greenhouse Juice Co., the event was alive with music, food and great vendors.

Toronto 2015: Veg Food Fest

“Veg Food will change your mouth’s mind.”

When I told a non-veg that I was heading to the Veg Food Fest, he laughed and told me to “have fun being hungry”. He couldn’t have been more wrong – I waddled away as full as can be.

For the past 31 years, the Toronto Vegetarian Association has been hosting the Veg Food Fest – the biggest of its kind in North America! I’m not exaggerating this time when I say it’s the biggest. There were over 130 vendors, bakeries, restaurants, live bands, merchandise, yoga classes, and cooking demos. This year saw the addition of a Wine & Beer Tent, a food truck area, and craft market by Etsy. There were also a lot of great animal support groups.
