Overall

48 Eastcastle Street
London, England

London is a mecca for vegan food. There are so many restaurants that cater to vegans,  I wasn’t sure which ones to try first.  I decided on Ethos and I’m very happy I did. As my first vegan spot in London,  Ethos set the bar high.

My visit to Ethos took place at noon,  during the lunch rush hour.  Consequently, the restaurant was packed and swarming with an upbeat buzz from the lunch crowd. We were greated by an eager gentleman upon arriving at the restaurant, who explained that Ethos is a buffet priced by weight – load up your plate,  weigh it at the cash and then enjoy your meal at your table of choice.

For how much I loaded on my plate (I had to try everything!), I was surprised at how inexpensive my meal was.  My entire entrée came to £15, which may seem like a lot,  but believe me, I really loaded it on.  There was not an inch of empty space left on that plate.

Ethos offers different salads, hot meal options and deserts. While not everything is vegan,  the entire restaurant is vegetarian with vegan and gluten free options clearly tagged.  There were many vegan options to choose from.

Out of all the salads I tasted, my favorite was the Tahini Cauliflower. It was creamy but not drenched in sauce, topped with walnuts. I actually wish I had taken more. I would return to Ethos just for this salad.

I also enjoyed the halved avocados topped with tomato salad. It was healthy and fresh and complimented the more rich and heavy foods perfectly.  (Pictured above)

The service at Ethos was great.  From the moment we stepped in and were greeted by the nice gentleman, to the moment we left, every staff member was friendly, attentive and always smiling.

I loved the decor at Ethos. Inside the restaurant were birch trees all over. It felt majestic and enticing. There was a mix of tables, booths, sofas and bar stools, so you could chose whichever option made you most comfortable. There were also a few tables set up outside for those wishing to enjoy the weather on a sunny London day.
