Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Do you have any special plans? While dinner, chocolate and flowers are great (I DO love some beautiful flowers!), I think Valentine’s Day should be more about your connection with your loved one than the material things. My ultimate V-day is spending quality time with my love, cooking dinner and appreciating each other. I’d swap a pre-arranged fixed menu any day for a home cooked meal, made together over a good movie or bottle of wine. Although you should celebrate love every day of the year, let’s be real – life is busy. We don’t always have time to dedicate towards our relationships and I like that there is a special day of the year dedicated to just that! A nice little pause in our day-to-day to spend with our loved ones.

Ok, so on to the good stuff…. the food!! This year, I’m really excited about our menu! For dinner, we will be making this Chick’n Fettucine Alfredo with Artichoke Hearts, and for dessert, we will be making these Chocolate Cookie Cakes and my favourite Vegan Vanilla Cake with Raspberry Jam and Buttercream Frosting (recipe below).

Did you know that the Super Bowl is the second most calorie-heavy day of the year, surpassing Christmas and second only to Thanksgiving? In many circles, it is an event typically filled with eating lots of heavy, animal-dense foods. Chicken wings, pulled pork sliders, pizzas and cheesy dips are just some examples of commonly enjoyed Super Bowl snacks. Lucky for us, it’s 2018 (wow, I cannot even believe that yet!) and guess what? All of those snacks you once loved? They can totally be veganized! Each and every snack you used to devour while watching the game, you can absolutely still have it.

So in a world full of vegan party grub recipes, which ones are worthy of trying, you ask? Fear not, I’ve got you covered. I’ve comprised a list of my favorite vegan snacks to lead you into this Super Bowl 2018. From buffalo “chicken” dip to BBQ sliders, I’ve got 10 vegan recipes that will cover all of your Super Bowl needs and satisfy your guests with plenty of delicious munchies.  You won’t even believe how easy these recipes are until you try them! And did I mentioned these recipes are carnivore approved? Huge freaking win for everybody.

Vegan Mini Pizzas with Creamy Garlic Dip

Let’s get something straight: people LOVE their pizza. With over 3 billion pizzas sold in the United States each year, pizza lands itself amongst the most popular dishes year after year after year.  Some people even consider pizza an entire food group, and come to think of it, I have actually never met a person that didn’t like pizza! And for good reason: it is really delicious! It is savoury, comforting and satisfying. It hits all of the right spots, and while I personally don’t consider pizza an entire food group, I must admit that I love it too! A lot.

Pizza is the perfect party food and always a crowd pleaser, so when I started thinking about what I’d be serving at my Super Bowl party this year, I knew I had to include it on the menu. But I couldn’t stop there; no pizza is complete without a creamy garlic dip. Any of my memories of pizza pre-going-vegan always included a creamy garlic dip, and so I started experimenting to recreate the dip I once loved. The recipe below not only replicates the dip I used to get from pizza chains, I think it improves it! It is carnivore approved, devoured every time it’s made and requested each and every get together we have. I do warn you though, there is enough garlic to ward off vampires! So if you and your guests aren’t heavily into garlic like we are, start off with less in your recipe and work your way up.
