Princesa Do Castelo is the perfect lunch spot to hit up after a tour of São Jorge Castle in Lisbon. Located in the beautiful area of Alfama, the winding roads and quaint architecture create the perfect setting for an enjoyable lunch. The menu at Princeso is always changing, while vegan options remain as a constant. There are gluten free options clearly marked.

Princesso is a small restaurant, with a ‘homey’ , warm vibe to it. Community tables line both sides. Meal portions are on the larger side and the staff are extremely friendly. Free Wi-Fi is also offered.wpid-2015-11-07-06.43.11-1.jpg.jpg

During my visit, I had the opportunity to try 2 different dishes and one dessert. The vegan sheppards pie was the winning dish, which was perfectly complemented by a side of green beans. I also enjoyed the Burrito, topped with vegan sour cream, and loaded with corn chips created the perfect amount of crunch. (Photo above)

To finish off the meal, I indulged in the mango ice cream, topped with fresh fruit and vegan cream. It was delicious!wpid-2015-10-26-12.52.50-2.jpg.jpg
