Kombucha may be an acquired taste for some. I personally love it. To me, it tastes like soda – just much more nutritious! For those that don’t know what Kombucha is, Kombucha refers to a beverage made by fermenting tea. Typically black or green tea, Kombucha is sweetened and fermented by using a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast). The end result of this process is a slightly sweet, slightly fizzy drink that is just delicious and claimed to be incredibly rich in health benefits.

About Tonica:

Tonica is a Canadian company, founded in Toronto in the year 2008. The founder, Zoey, began making Kombucha for her friends, family and yoga students. Word spread about how great her Kombucha was, and thus Tonica was formed.

To this day, Toronto is still the home for all of Tonica’s brewing. The beverages are distributed throughout Canada (sorry to everybody else, you really are missing out!) and you may find it in many stores around the country. Tonica is 100% natural, gmo-free, organic and raw. There are only 45 calories per bottle and it is naturally carbonated.1438789119808

My opinion on the products:

The 4 flavors I tried were: Peach, Mango, Ginger and Coffee. Each one being just as great as the last. I honestly loved these drinks so much, that I couldn’t even wait to take the photo (below) without drinking one of them first!

Side note: I have been soda free for the last 3 years of my life. When I finally made the decision to live a healthier life, I cut out sodas without any regrets. Although I am confident in my decision, sometimes I do miss that bubbly goodness. So when I tried Tonica and tasted the natural carbonation, I was immediately hooked. These are the PERFECT replacement to the common, unhealthy, and full of calorie soda.11356662_1481682005463914_1130342962_n
